In Teacher: Wallimann, Uncategorized, Unit 3: Industrial Revolution on March 15, 2011 at 12:02 am

During the Industrial Revolution in Britain factory acts were put in place after reposts like the Sadler Reports were published. This source supplies evidence from the Sadler reports that supports the idea that child labor in factories inappropriate. They also suggest inhuman conditions were the reason behind many injuries sicknesses and deaths. Parents of child labors are interviewed about the work of there children. Sadler places parents into two groups. The first group is the ‘monsters’ who allow there children to work because they can. The other group depicts the parents who have no choice but to let their children work because it is the only way they can be fed.  These reports were very significant by mid industrial revolution because they changed the perception of child labor for the rest of the revolution.
